ROBOT SMALL

I am endlessly fascinated with what Ivo says when he first wakes up in the morning. I think this is because dreams are such a key to unlock what goes on in your brain, and to figure out what you think is important.

For a long while (very long), the first thing Ivo would say when he woke up was, BIG TRAIN! Not this morning! He woke up and gave a big OHHHH NOOOOOO! And then it was MAMA BIRD FLY HOME! OHHH NOOO! BABY BIRD FLY HOME! MAMA BIRD GIVE BABY BIRD A CRAB! BABY BIRD PATCHING (he says patching instead of hatching) OUTTA EGG!

This refers to a book called "Is My Mama a Llama?" which Ivo requests as MAMMALAMMA? where the mama bird flys in to her baby bird hatching and gives the baby a crab to eat. Yum? The llama looks on with big wide eyes! Reminds me of Ivo.

When he walked in on me editing yesterday, the music was cranked and I was intent and focused on the thing I was working on. He was TOTALLY wide eyed and as freaked out as the llama was watching the baby bird patching. It must be so weird and scary to see Mama giving all her attention and seriousness to a computer screen instead of to him. No wonder he is obsessed with YouTube. As Harriet the Spy would say, "Think about this."
