Sorry for being such a blog flake. Things have been nutsarooni around here. I think mostly in my head, but a little bit in real life too. During all this madness, I was convinced by John's mom Carolyn to visit Lafayette, Louisiana during Easter break. What was I thinking?! Well, I KNOW what I was thinking. Family = babysitting = mama gets to take a slight break! In my case, a SUPER break, cuz Carolyn hasn't seen little Ivo forever, so she wanted to spend lots and lots of time with him. On our way down to Lafayette, of course I had to stop and see Luke and Meghann. The picture of Ivo in front of "Muddy Nuts" is a reprise of the picture of him in front of the same truck 8 months ago. Luke and Meghann are the coolest artists/bartenders in New Orleans and I had a great time just passing through and seeing them. The "Luke Allen New Orleans Experience", which I always have while visiting him, is walking all around town while he greets and has soulful conversations with everyone in town. He knows EVERYBODY. The only people he doesn't know are the people with khakis and polo shirts who are obviously in from out of town. It was worth the horrible plane trip to go down there for sure. I only bought one seat on the plane, because technically you can do that while your child is under 2 years old, but if you are by yourself on a full plane, you might as well just kill yourself. All the stewardesses wouldn't let me be in the back of the plane, and Ivo was trying to mangle the guy in the seat next to us, so we walked up and down the aisle while Ivo looked searchingly into the faces of ALL the passengers ONE BY ONE. Couldn't WAIT to get off that plane and into the Bywater. We had a fabulous dinner and then all went out to Le Bon Temps Roulet while Gretchen the evil cat babysat Ivo.

Doesn't she look responsible enough? Actually we all went to sleep. Luke and Meghann were all tired out after messing with the baby for 4 hours! Ha! Ha! Tomorrow, Carolyn is picking us up and taking us to Lafayette!
