1000% grandparent love. That's what Ivo got this week. Both grandma and grandpa were around all week. I totally forgot I even had a kid. That's because I was working on a certain project 14 hours a day. I didn't leave the house for the whole week, in fact, I think I stayed in my pajamas for three days straight. Gross. But Ivo had the week of a lifetime! Tons of grandma and grandpa love, lots of walks, my mom waking up at the crack of dawn with a smile on her face, ready to play with him, etc. etc. I think it's good for my mom to take care of him, it gives her some Zen and peace, which she needs in her hectic life.

I was thinking this week that the first six months of being a baby must be so scary. You don't know where you are, or if everything is going to keep changing all the time. When you have a tiny baby, the first six months as a parent are spent just trying to convince these little fetuslets that the world is an OK place to be. They have to forget the shadowy land that they came from, and forget the vast wisdom that they had before they became terrestrial. Once they are indoctrinated into the human race, they become the stupid and cute little monkeys that we love. I think he has finally decided that this world is an acceptable place to reside, and that, actually, he likes it. And we like him! In the past couple of weeks, I fell in love with my baby all over again. Little monkey!
