Dateline: Lafayette, Louisiana.
Ever since Ivo arrived in Louisiana, he seems to be in an inordinately good mood. The meeting between him and his grandma (maw maw) and his great-grandmother (old maw maw) was amazing to watch. The grandmother/
grandson bond is just so instant and lasting, like crazy glue. Ivo was in heaven cuz of all the attention and love and Carolyn was very happy too! As soon as I was done breastfeeding the baby, Carolyn would take him and spirit him away to the garden and talk and sing to him, until he had to eat again. John's maw maw (Ivo's old maw maw) was hilarious. She is becoming deaf so there was a lot of talking loud which made it seem like a zany Peter Sellers comedy. She comments a lot on how dangerous everything is... one of the stories I have heard about her is that she warned John against letting his dog stick his head out the car window because "he's gonna drown in all that air!" She is truly a character. Also I got to see all the John baby pictures... he looks exactly like Ivo. No paternity test needed, thank you very much.
